YESTERDAY’S HEAT INDEX MAKING IT FEEL HOTTER THAN 100 DEGREES. SCHOOLS HAD TO ADJUST RECESS AND AT TIMES EVEN CANCEL ATHLETIC PRACTICES AND MEETS. IN ONEIDA COUNTY — IT’S NOT THE HEAT — BUT “MAINTENANCE CONCERNS” THAT’S EXTENDING SUMMER VACATION FOR STUDENTS AT STALEY ELEMENTARY IN ROME. THE FIRST DAY WAS SUPPOSED TO BE TODAY. NOW IT WILL BE MONDAY. STAFF SHOULD REPORT TO THE HIGH SCHOOL, ROME FREE ACADEMY. JENNIFER: EAST SYRACUSE MINOA IS ONE OF DOZEN AND A HALF CENTRAL NEW YORK SCHOOLS STARTING THEIR SCHOOL YEAR TODAY!
