University College Degrees and Majors: College of Computing and Informatics


Welcome to UNC Charlotte. We want you to stake your claim and discover
the majors that we have to offer that may best suit your interests. As a University College student, you have
a unique opportunity to explore all of our bachelor’s degree programs. Each program has its own requirements. The College of Computing and Informatics is
considered one of our competitive majors on campus. All students are required to obtain an elevated
GPA of a 2.5 for admission to the major concentrations. They must also complete specific core courses
to transition into the major and select your specific concentration within the major. These courses are: Introduction to Computer Science 1 Introduction to Computer Science 2 Logic and Algorithms and Data Structures and Algorithms All computer science students are required
to pursue a set of related courses known as an outside concentration to help you become
well-rounded and relate your computing skills to other content areas. We look forward to working with you in University
College and guide you toward your intended major. Again, welcome to UNC Charlotte and we want
